Leigh has been in the Early Childhood Field since 1987 working at Broome County Head Start (now known as Greater Opportunities for Broome) as a Home Visitor, Lead Teacher and Center Director Leigh spent most of her career as Director of Child Care at the Broome County YMCA and worked in collaboration with the Binghamton City School district providing full day Universal Pre-Kindergarten at the YMCA.
The New York State Education Department (NYSED) Office of Special Education (OSE) has Regional Teams and FACE Centers across New York working with Special Education Educational Partnerships. Together they engage in systems change work and provide support and training to families, education professionals, and other interested parties. Each FACE center has an Early-Childhood and School-Age team. Early-Childhood serves birth through third grade and School-Age serves ages 5 to 21.
